The Boarding House

Mr. Right – or – Mr. Wrong? Left with only a small sum of money and a run-down old Victorian house by her life-long lover, Penelope has to choose between just dumping the dilapidated building for what she can get, or trying to make something of it. Along with her handy-man brother, Penelope chooses to refurbish the old home and turn it into a boarding house, albeit with grave reservations. Still, she was determined to make a success of the venture and soon had a house full of odd characters ranging from a former female speakeasy entertainer to a would-be playwright producer. Not the least among the lodgers is Richard, a look-alike to her deceased friend. Is her attraction to this strange man a transference of her feelings for her prior lover, or is she falling? And what about the instinctive feelings that are warning her not to get too close. Action and adventure abound. with romance and suspense drawing the reader ever deeper into Penelope's quagmire until the last surprising conclusion leaves the reader breathless and clamoring for more.
