When three outlaws try to steal Dave Bradford's horse, he reacts as any upright man would: he fills them full of lead. The grateful citizens of the town want to make him their marshal, thinking that Bradford is his famous twin brother, Dan Starr. So, although Dave's past is less than pristine, he decides to wear a badge just long enough to collect the reward money he's earned for killing the bank robbers. But more desperados ride in to make off with the local mine's payroll -- and Dave is caught between a rock and a hard place when the real Dan Starr shows up.
