Immediately after his mother's death, Ashley Bellamy mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Six months later, his half-sister Jane receives a card postmarked from Kodapur, giving her the only clue to his whereabouts. Alone, she travels to the remote Indian town certain she will find him.

Instead, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance become even odder. Jane learns that it is irrevocably linked with the ancient sacrificial ritual due to take place at the Bhunda cave and the existence of the fabulous jewels hidden deep within it.
