The Augmented Chronicles

Imagine overnight if everyone became superhuman. Imagine the anarchy, the chaos. Some could pick up cars, some squashed armies underfoot. Thugs rose first, then gangs. Only the bravest fought against their madness. Finally organized crime reinstituted some semblance of order. After that the Guardians took over, as the police and as the government. That was the last three years. Strength equaled authority and few had ideals that matched their power. Those were the final days of the Regression: The downfall of humanity. The four Pillars, walking gods, rule over everything now, at least everything in the states. As far as most are concerned, that's all that's left. Guardians patrol cities and towns, and are ever fearful of the four that rule above them. But their world will not last forever. There are forces moving that even the Pillars fear and that even they cannot hope to understand.
