Everett Troy, returns to his hometown, Beacon Pointe, to fulfill a life-long dream - produce and direct the musical play he has written. Smoke and mirrors has played a big part in his life since he was forced to leave home when he was eighteen, breaking the heart of the only woman he ever loved.
