The Apple Fell

Heather Grace married too young and had nothing to show for it except bruises on the inside and out, plus a reason to question her own judgment. She limps back to a quiet home town in Florida and believes she is lucky to get her old job back at the Clark County Sheriff's Department. Within a month, Sheriff Garner, Sr. is murdered and a deputy close to Heather is dead and it is called a suicide. While her estranged husband's threats grow more menacing, she gathers courage to go to the police academy. The Mexican and Colombian cartels are getting a stronghold in Clark County and she is helping a DEA agent find out how. Sheriff Garner's son, Junior is elected to take over his esteemed father's job and Heather believes that is he is the apple that fell far from the tree. He discovers what Heather is up to, and soon it isn't safe to be on either side of the law in Clark County.
