The Ansgar Kids Treasury

The Ansgar Kids Treasury is a collection of four books for younger readers from preschool to the third grade. These books introduce kids to animal and human characters from the first two books in the epic fantasy Windflower Saga trilogy: "Ansgar: The Struggle of a People. The Triumph of the Heart." and "Of Wisdom and Valor: The Art of War. The Path of Peace." The four books in this collection are three picture books: "Tiyo, The Dog Who Saved Ansgar." "Bright Star, A Pony of the Kimbrii," and the poetic dream "In a Land Far Away." The fourth story is a short chapter book, "Keri and Kalina," which is the story of two cousins aged 10 and 7 who are orphaned or left with only one parent and share a room at a boarding school run by nuns. Throughout all of the stories, the beautiful land of Kimbria, and especially the homeland of the indigenous Kimbrii people and their mixed-race descendants, and the animals who live there with them, are strongly featured. In "Keri and Kalina," the role of family relationships and boarding school adventures as well multicultural experiences in a fantasy setting are also emphasized.
