The Adversary

I began running frantically, yet quietly, down the hallway of my home. Still, sensitive to all things around, I felt the sweat on the edge of my forehead streaming down my face like a waterfall. Instinctively, I used my sleeves of my silk, floral-printed, long-sleeved Victoria's lingerie to wipe the sweat from my eyes as I glanced at the clock. Still shaking and shivering. We both walk to the elevator. Jack's finger pressed the numbers 5 and 6 on the elevator. On a brief ride upward, I stepped off on the fifth floor, and I heard Jack shout, "The lobby in two hours, Josey." I didn't know that I was stepping into a world of delusion and adversity. I didn't know that I was chosen for a purpose until I found out my truth and that my truth was full of secrets. "The adversary" that roams the earth is seeking out who he can destroy, but my life was preordained by God.
