'Tis all a dreadful mistake. Jezebel Clinton is no actress; she is a proper young lady, playing a role in order to save her brother from financial ruin. Now she has just been bought by the Marquis of Haversham to play the part of his fiance! Detesting the idea of being leg-shackled, the Marquis wishes to foil his matchmaking grandmother's plans.
