Sensible Miss Sarah Sommers and her sister Margaret, a diamond of the first water, were country misses. But they could recognize a true gentleman, and dashing Lord Eustace was simply splendid, gallantly rescuing them when their coach broke down. Their wealthy grandmother, Lady Alverley, a dragon of the "ton", was sponsoring their come-outs, and they had been on the road to London. Lord Eustace was surely their first conquest, for the eligible bachelor was quite smitten by Margaret. Alas, it was Sarah who secretly fell in love.
