Tempered Sorrows

Luise Letkemann thought she had experienced trying circumstances in the past, but the challenges heaped upon her now bring her to the end of herself. Through association, Daniel's family has acquired the hatred of Senior Major Leonid Dubrowsky, who is bent on destroying anyone connected with the Martens family. Daniel's attempt to defend his innocence results in severe retaliation from Dubrowsky and separation from Luise. Although her great sorrows are tempered by hope, the struggles continue.
