Tascosa cowboy Jim East's life took a dramatic turn when he was called on to track down some stolen cattle -- and subsequently to help capture Billy the Kid. Upon his triumphant return to Tascosa, Jim was elected sheriff -- an all-consuming job in a town where the rowdy locals enjoyed drinking, gambling, and fighting in equal measure. But these rambunctious rumblings were soon eclipsed by a much more devastating conflict. Powerful cattle barons were trying their darnedest to force small ranchers and freewheeling Cowboys off the land. Caught in the cross fire, Jim East had to put personal loyalties aside to break up the fight that divided Tascosa -- before tensions escalated into a full-blown bloodbath.
