About This Book

The reality of war is always unpleasant. Born into a White family, but raised as a Tanook, White Wolf learned the hurt of being different. Because he was White, the dislike he experienced from the Tanook men, women and children plunged him into a life of despair, loneliness, and ultimately a life of isolation. Before becoming a full-grown adult, he had his first encounter with the White man's push into the northwest. Believing in the Mother of All Things, White Wolf must fight the enemies of those who despised him in order to save their land, and he must stop the Dabute hunters from taking what is not theirs, causing his own people to go hungry; and he must somehow find a way to stop the miners who were destroying his peoples' mountains. Miners, who the Tanook called, "Diggers" were blocking the streams, cutting the trees and excavating huge holes just to fill their own pockets. Killing everyone that got in his way, White Wolf must learn to feel the pain that he has caused to so many others, and still put his plan into action by fighting the White Savages with the one weapon his enemy values above all else–GOLD.
