Frying pans and firetrucks, witch's brew and blowhards fill the pages of Sweet Tea and Sticky Buns, a debut novel whose story unfolds within the simple lifestyle of the late 1950's. The story begins when Sara returns to the small town of Knob Noster, Louisiana. Rose, Sara's steadfast friend, is waiting to welcome her home and help heal the deep scars of abandonment and betrayal that crisscross Sara's soul. Sara struggles to emerge from the cocoon of resentment that has imprisoned her most of her life. With the help of her friends at the Rose Garden Café she works to thaw her frozen emotions to finally heal. A summer-long tumbledown of farcical schemes, uproarious encounters, and a whole lotta hullabaloo in the town unsettle fine and fiendish residents alike. Tranquility turns into turmoil, causing Knob Nosterites to question their deep-seated beliefs and begin to see their little corner of the universe in a different light. In the end, it is this light that creates change—change that comes with acceptance and looking forward to movin' on.
