Josie is ready for sweet change. A small town-girl at heart, Josie Alvarez is excited to leave her hectic job in Dallas for a counseling position in Lullaby, Missouri. Working at the new teen pregnancy center is just the move she needs. But as Josie settles into her life helping young mothers prepare for their futures, she realizes she has her own fears to overcome in the small lakefront town. Single dad Caleb Jackson juggles candy shop ownership and his job as youth pastor with raising his daughter, Sailor. When Josie needs some part-time work to supplement her income, Caleb is thrilled to offer her a job at La Dolce Vita-hoping she'll be a positive influence on teenage Sailor and because her bubbly personality is hard to resist. When a startling secret about Sailor comes to light, Caleb feels like a failure as father and pastor. Can Josie remind him that God uses all situations for good?
