The order to shelter-at-home due to the global pandemic known as the Coronavirus has been lifted. With a new perspective on how precious and fleeting life can be, Penelope ventures into the brave new world to solve an old problem. Is she ready to face an old foe, and will she find answers to an unsolved dilemma in an unlikely place? In an updated version relevant to the COVID-19 experience, Swamp Princess takes the reader into one woman's post-lockdown world where an unexpected happenstance delivers more than a healing.An earlier version of Swamp Princess was published in the short fiction anthology Blue Cathedral (Red Hen Press, 2000), edited by Kate Gale and Mark E. Cull. Allie Bullock created the story through a series of writers' workshops, first as a three-page thriller, subsequently blown into a screenplay to flesh out the characters, and several revisions later adapted into a short story.
