About This Book

James McGregor is a druggie in Minneapolis, Minnesota, without much direction but chock full of brilliant, controversial ideas. He parties hard and thinks, sometimes, about taking college seriously—or maybe not. Then, he sees an ad about a drug study. The study focuses on sufferers of schizophrenia and pays six hundred bucks a month. It's too good to pass up. The application of this new test drug has some unforeseen consequences for James. His mind is cleared of its pot-smoking past and opened to a bold, new future. Soon, his Marine Corps security clearance is activated, and James finds himself battling ISIS-piloted fighter jets over the deserts of Syria in a neck and neck chase to stop aviation terrorism. Unbeknownst to him, the innocent drug study turns James into a whole new person with new goals and priorities—and a clearer mind. His old AA serenity prayer takes on novel meaning as he surrenders to fate in an effort to save thousands of lives. He thought the study might help pay for college; instead, it paves the way to a future he never thought possible.
