Surgical Proposal

Dr Catherine Nandutu, a craniofacial plastic surgeon with London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is on holiday in her home country Uganda. She rents an apartment in a secluded estate that has a community of elite bachelors and spinsters searching for spouses among themselves. There Catherine learns of Julius Wabomba, the enigmatic owner of the estate who lives next door to her rented apartment. She realises that every spinster in the estate is trying to capture his attention because of his rugby-build and joins the frenzy. Then she is confronted by Nasuuna, a violent woman who accuses her of trying to steal her husband. Catherine flees and loses touch with Julius. In her disillusionment, she meets another rugby-built man with an acute facial deformity and conceives the idea of creating for herself a lookalike of Julius. Catherine offers to fly Mafabi to London for plastic surgery on condition that she gets to choose his new face. Mafabi accepts her proposal on his terms: that the new face is original and not somebody else’s. Hoping Mafabi won’t find out, Catherine gives him Julius’ face.
