Surfing

The Adventures of Junior and Spike the Wonder Dog. Book Seventeen: Surfing, a children's book written and illustrated by Moshe. The first two pictures are of Junior and Spike dressed as Hawaiian surfers. The story begins with Dad barbecuing steaks on the grill, for breakfast. After breakfast they drive to town where Dad spots a yard sale. Dad buys three old, beat up surfboards. The next day Dad drops Junior off at school then goes to work on the surfboards. Dad paints the first one and Junior paints the other two. When the surfboards are ready to be used, the family drives to the Pacific Ocean. At the shrimp shack they have shrimp cocktails and soda, before going surfing. After they all surf, Dad and Junior go surf fishing in the ocean. They sleep on the beach looking at the stars, while Dad tells a story about a surfer boy and his dog that live on the beach in Hawaii, where they surf every day. The next morning Dad catches fish for breakfast then the family goes for a walk along the beach where they see birds diving for fish, a sea lion and a sea otter. While surfing the family sees a bottlenose dolphin. They eat veggie burgers at a food stand before driving home to Arizona.
