About This Book

In the midst of turmoil in post-Apartheid South Africa, Martin returns to his childhood home of Tembisa on the advice of his mentor. Martin has been away for seven years, living in Vienna and studying mysticism. Much has changed in the New South Africa, including Martin's parents, who have joined with a business partner and taken in two tenant families in an attempt to improve the family's financial security. The new occupants create a volatile mix, putting Martin in the role of mediator. Martin brings with him the wisdom and spirituality he has gained while working with his mentor in Vienna, but it is not enough to keep him from getting sucked into a racial dispute that peaks during the mystic sunset in Africa. This sunset becomes a central theme in this semi-autobiographical journey that takes readers from Vienna to Tembisa to an African Buddhist Seminary. About the Author Mark O'Doherty is a mystic who grew up South Africa and currently lives in Vienna. His inspiration for writing is the African New Thought Movement and the African people. He lived in South Africa from 2003 to 2006, not long after democracy was declared in the country. He enjoys making a living through helping others and plans to publish two fantasy books he is working on.
