Summer Rain

Kristi Saunders creates a syndicated cartoon about her little dog, Alexander the Small. Engaged by Word Wise Card Company to design a line of greeting cards with Alexander, she moves into a duplex in Marlborough, a suburb of Philadelphia. The interesting owner of the duplex, who also occupies one side, is Chad Coleman.

Soon after Kristi begins her new job, she drives home on a rainy day to discover a strange, sad, rain-dampened little boy huddled in a chair on the back porch of her duplex. He tells her his name is Mickey and that he's come to spend the summer, like always, only this year he may stay longer.

Chad draws Kristi into the mystery and intrigue that surrounds this appealing boy as they work together to protect him from danger. As they discover the true facts and learn the reasons that brought Mickey here, they also discover how much each of their lives was changed by summer rain.
