Stubborn Standoff

Josephine Taylor is not a merry widow but she's not grieving either. A long abusive marriage forced on her by a dying mother has ended. She is free, alone and penniless. Griffin Hollings is divorced. He is damaged goods according to Cordie, the only female he regards favorably. Cordie works at the law firm handling the Hollings affairs and finds the perfect woman to take over the job as housekeeper for Hollis, the elder Hollings. Hollis, a widower in poor health, spends winters in his city home and summers at the family ranch. Hollis and Jo click immediately. Griff allows as how she is a hard worker and easy on the eyes but prefers his women with a little more spunk. Hollis warns him not to count her out just because she has muscles. Hollis brings Jo to the ranch with him for the summer over Griff's protests. The tension builds while Hollis serves as referee. Griff is willing to take her to bed and she'd like to, she wants him but so does every single girl in the county.
