Evelyn Darcy's training to become a true special forces operative has only just begun, when Eight Unit gets word that one of their own is in trouble. Harry Stanton, sent to Ukraine when an old alias of his is contacted, has ditched his comms and missed his check-ins. While other teammates may wonder if Stanton has gone back to being a gun-for-hire, Evelyn believes otherwise. Her belief is confirmed when she discovers his last communication contains a message only she can hear. It contains information about Russia's thirst for a new empire and the blood it will spill of anyone who gets in its way, including British blood on British soil.
