This book takes place during WWI1. The Italians allied wit the Germans in fighting the Americans in Africa. When the Italians are abandoned by the Germans with no food, supplies and ammunition, they surrender to the Americans Many Italians speak English and have relatives in the States; many Americans have re1at in Italy. A friendship and understanding takes place with subplots of “American Freedom Fighters” to undermine the military efforts; a wife posing as a soldier to follow her husband; murder and deceit.
