Al & Joy Jenkins and Frank & Helen Wilson fit the dictionary definition of good friends perfectly. Joy and Helen grew up together in Prairie Rose ND; the couples stood up for each other's weddings; the guys played Santa for each other's kids for many years; and their families still vacation together. With all that history, they think they know each other inside-out. But when the four friends turn fifty, secrets emerge. Helen thinks Frank is planning their long-awaited vacation. Wrong. Al and Joy can't believe they could have marriage problems; their biggest crisis is far behind them. Wrong. Frank thinks he's hot stuff. Wrong again.Even Joy's first-graders know that without a compass, it's frightfully easy to lose ones way.
