Amidst island tales of long-lost fairies and pirate chickens, Tia discovers the true magic of the elusive storm petrel in this uplifting tale of conservation from Gill Lewis.

With a summer storm brewing, the Tall Ship racers seek shelter in the bay of Gull Haven Island, and Tia's mum is called in to care for the captain's cat. On board, Tia listens sceptically to the sailors' legends of strange chickens that can predict storms, and back on land she's scornful about tales of long-lost fairies hiding near the lighthouse.

But when Nat's dad takes Tia and Nat to the fairy stones, they unravel the truth behind all the stories in the shape of tiny storm petrels who desperately need their help.
