Ernie Stone lives a secret life of intrigue and danger. As a covert operative for the government he’s seen more than the average hundred agents yet what he finds in Puerto Rico tops it all.

Sent on a seemingly simple operation to find and kill a monster terrorizing a secret research facility, he expects to be in and out of the country quickly. What could possibly be so bad in Puerto Rico, after all, a monster, really?

Until he sees the monster, he discovers what it really is, all the easy options go out the window. He knows he has to do the right thing. He just wishes the right thing didn’t cause him to have second thoughts.

Beaten, bruised and feeling betrayed by those he trusted most, he finds himself deep in the jungles of Puerto Rico tracking down a real life nightmare. If it doesn’t kill him first, he might be able to save its life. Either way, he might not make it home again. Covert operatives who go off-mission are usually targeted for termination. Ernie knows that.

He just figures doing what’s right has to come first. It’s what any red-blooded Texas boy would do.
