About This Book

Ten years have passed since the events of Thunder under the Badlands. Explorers Jason and Jordan are taken hostage and forced to return to the underground sea known as Cretacea, where they find an enormous laboratory set up by the US government.

Jason and Jordan quickly learn that Cretacea is very unstable, and a collapse is imminent. Though skeptical of the government’s motives, they support an effort to remove the unique species from Cretacea and relocate them above the surface; however, no habitat on the planet can sustain one of the species: the arachnid-like Chill.

As a solution, the government hatches a plan to send the Chill to Jupiter’s moon Europa, known for having a liquid sea beneath its frozen surface. Part of the plan involves creating an ecosystem around the moon’s hydrothermal vents and genetically altering the Chill to better adapt; however, the government isn’t being forthcoming with their intentions.

Through it all, Jordan and Jason must determine what’s right and what’s dangerous. The second book in the Thunderstruck series, Stealing Thunder deftly expands on the world of Thunder under the Badlands, taking the reader on a journey from deep underground to the cold chaos of space.
