Spring Will Come

Dark-eyed and distant, the illegitimate Shima, raised by gypsies, is very different from his father's other children. Although fiercely desired by a lovely gypsy girl, he turns his attentions towards Sorrell Harris, who has loved Shima's half-brother since childhood.

orrel Harris has always admired Jay Sawle, but he is her social superior. When Jay finally asks her to the annual fair, Sorrel is walking on clouds; and then Jay confides a family secret: he has a half-brother, Shima, his father's illegitimate son who was raised by gipsies. When dark-eyed Shima saves Sorrel from a sadistic attack, she cannot help but be grateful, and so the brothers become rivals in love. As the drums of war sound in Europe, first Jay and then Shima volunteer for the Front. Sorrel longs for the return of the man she loves - if she could only decide which one of them that is.
