Standing on the deck of the Yukon riverboat, staring at the fast-receding shoreline, pretty Kathy Arnold couldn't have felt more miserable. Once the idea of going into the Alaskan wilderness to keep house for her brother, Peter, had seemed terribly exciting…but not now.
