Enraged over the pitiful plight of local miners, feisty flame-haired Carrie O'Leary decides to take action. Gun in hand, she bursts into the offices of the Crested Butte Courier and kidnaps editor Matt Worthington, the handsome -- but infuriating -- nephew of the Silver Queen mine's unscrupulous owner.

Though feverish with desire for the spirited beauty who holds him capitve, the lusty newspaperman resists the urging of his heart. For surrender would mean betraying the Worthington name -- and the uncle who had raised him. But nature intervenes when an avalanche strands Carrie and Matt together in a tiny cabin high in the Colorado mountains. And survival suddenly depends on two passionate adversaries creating some blistering, soul-searing heat of their own.
