When a winter storm hits Welford and causes a break in electricity, Mandy and James are once again called to action. The fate of the annual Christmas Eve dance depends on them! But the bitter cold's affected more than just the local entertainment. First, Mrs. McFarlane's new parakeet comes down with a mysterious illness. Then, Lauren, a new friend of Mandy's, needs help learning how to properly care for an aging cocker spaniel through this brutally cold weather.
