Somebody's Sweetheart

Cecilia was good at her work with the Mounted Police. But when she was transferred away from the life and the man she loved, she thought her happy life was over.

If only Cecelia Mary Noonan had been born a boy instead of a girl, she would have been a mounted policeman instead of a mere employee of the Police Department. So it shocked her when Dan Mulhearn confided to her that he was leaving Troop B of the Mounted District of the Clayton City Police Force, and she wondered what compelling reason there might be. She soon discovered and was even more alarmed to learn that it was another girl who wanted a husband who would be certain to come home every evening all in one piece. Cecelia decided to do battle and as a result soon found herself risking the loss of both her man and her job.
