Some Old Lover's Ghost

This is a crime novel set in South Wales and featuring Detective Inspector Ben Field. He has taken the job because he wanted promotion although he expects the location to be something of a quiet backwater. Instead, he finds himself faced with a cold case that has links to organised crime, a professional hitman and the active involvement of the British security services. With only a young female sergeant to help as well as drawing on the support of colleagues from his previous job he faces a number of powerful enemies who will stop at nothing to obtain what they want. At the same time, he has to face a crisis in his personal life which threatens his ability to pursue the case with his customary dedication.
