Slocum and the Preacher's Daughter

LIKE LITTLE LAMBS TO SLAUGHTER. That's what the sodbusters on their way to Oklahoma were. And it was Slocum's job to make sure they got there. But then the wagon train ran into the kind of luck that most men don't live through.

Slocum might have expected renegade Indians and fast-shooting outlaws, but Wingate was something the big Southerner didn't reckon on. Wingate was the meanest bounty hunter to ever collect on a back-shot corpse. He was a mountain man making a dollar, just a hair's breadth on the right side of the law. And he always brought in his man...dead, alive, or somewhere in between.

Now, Wingate's set his sights on the honcho of a certain wagon train. And for Slocum, staying alive means watching his back—which ain't easy, seeing as his eyes are fastened on the lovely daughter of a hellfire preacher.
