When John Sabourin is sent to monitor the fate of a nuclear submarine trapped in the Arctic ice, he envisions a quiet, isolated leave of absence from the chaos of "normal" life. What he encounters is madness on ice, complete with explosions, street brawls, vegetarian wolves, church burning, and a visit by a befuddled polar bear. Just when things couldn't get any crazier, John realizes that three of his loony associates are part of a conspiracy to activate a dangerous secret weapon. When this wild bunch drives out onto the ice sheet to free the captive sub, anything can happen. And does.
