Stone McCafferty should have left it alone. He called the sheriff after finding Frank Galeno, the reclusive scientist, dead in the Missouri River. That was where Stone's duty ended, but he didn't agree that the evidence added up to natural causes . He was even more concerned after finding out that Galeno had been working on a high capacity battery powerful enough to unravel the existing energy industry. Stone looked deeper, not knowing that his actions would put himself and his loved ones in the kill zone.

Now framed for two murders and hunted by posse through the Montana wilderness, Stone's only hope for survival or redemption lies trying to turn the tables on his powerful pursuers by releasing the invention to the world.
