Guy Kolter was probably one of the best detectives in Denver. So when he was hired by someone to find the killer of Zack Lorring, an old miner, he was fairly sure he could do the job.

But Guy hadn't counted on meeting up with Milo Gates, one of the most ruthless mine owners in the country. And he hadn't expected to get involved with the Skull Mountain Bandit, the most slippery, skillful—and just plain weird—robber anywhere in the East or the West.
