Sixth-Grade High

From top of the heap to bottom of the barrel!

Maxie Granville knows her sixth-grade year will be terrific. At last, her class will be the oldest in the school.

Then, in a twist of events Maxie puts under the heading "Expect the worst, especially when you have a weird family," Maxie learns that her class is being moved to the high school building because the elementary school is overcrowded. Instead of being at the top of the heap, they'll be way down at the bottom.

Sixth grade turns out to be even more complicated than Maxie had expected. She loses her best friend, Dilys, and risks losing all her friends when she befriends Ellen, the class outcast. But then Maxie comes up with a brilliant plan, proving once and for all that sixth-graders are not munchkins.
