Six Months to Live

Dawn Rochelle sat in the doctor's office clutching her mother's hand. They couldn't believe the doctor's diagnosis. Dawn was only thirteen years old, and she had leukemia. She had to begin immediate treatment.

Chemotherapy makes Dawn nauseous, and her long auburn hair, which she's been growing for years, begins to fall out. With the help of her roommate, Sandy, who also has cancer, Dawn finally gains the strength to battle the disease. Even after they both go into remission and return home, Dawn and Sandy remain best friends.

But when Sandy gets sick again, Dawn wonders what the future holds, both for Sandy and for her.
