Skye Fargo himself wasn't sure if he'd taken on the job of trail boss for the group of small ranchers because of threats made against him by the Haskells, who were trying to wipe out the local competition and didn't want Fargo butting in. After all, it was hard to pass up the temptation of riding trail with a crew of luscious lady cattle owners, who were all too eager to please him — whether their own men liked it or not.
