200 hundred and more years have passed since Jane Austen spoke of the experiences of women in Regency
England, at least of women of her class. A lot has changed, principally Birth Control, Divorce, and women's
access to good jobs. With advanced surgery, everyone can be beautiful, and with drugs, everyone can be happy.
There are signs that everyone is not included, the old ladies pushing their belongings around in prams, looking for somewhere
to spend the night, the drug addicts prepared to do anything to fill their need, the young leaving school barely able to read or write. We do not concern with this, our friends appear on gossip columns or TV, shiny and well polished. In this new world, not paying tax is not a reason to be shunned.
