Silver Shadows

Laurie DeVere has to get her mother out of Boston and to the Arizona Territory before her uncle creates a problem she doesn't want to face. Stranded with limited finances in Silver City, NM, Laurie must find a way to get to Fort Bowie. A rude stranger seems to be the answer to her prayers, except he has other plans. Ultimately, she manages to secure a ride using her devious ability for cunning and wit. When Jed rents a coach to Bowie the last thing he wants is to be saddled with a snippy greenhorn. However, once he learns that her mother is to be wed to his estranged father the choice is taken out of his hands. But he'd fail to mention he was the groom's son. Tempers flare and sparks fly on the trip. Myriad complications arise in the form of renegade Apaches, a fatherless child, a wayward Appaloosa, and an old man who has seen too much.
