A Shoshone Indian tribe thrives in the Wapiti Valley of Wyoming. One night, a powerful storm rocks the valley, and a buffalo herd stampedes their encampment, destroying its people, their possessions, and their animals. The next morning, a medicine man discovers that one young brave has survived, but he is gravely injured and isn't expected to live.
