About This Book

Scott is a very lazy boy. His room is so messy it's hard to get in the door and his schoolbag is so full of stuff he can't even find his school reader! Finally his mom gets tough and orders him to clean up fast. He's banned from basketball practice until he does. Then Scott has a bright idea – right at the back of his wardrobe is a space big enough for him to throw all the mess in his room into it. His mom will never know! He's sure he'll be able to find anything he wants quite easily, and his room will look spick and span.
Scott also hates tuna sandwiches. When he finds his mom has given him a tuna sandwich for his school lunch, he makes a swap with the new kid in class, Sigmund. Yuk! Sigmund's sandwich is worse than his own – it's full of some sort of green slime paste that's supposed to be healthy. Scott's best friend Pete thinks it's the best joke out. Scott doesn't eat the sandwich and it ends up in his wardrobe...
When Pete comes for a sleepover at Scott's house a few days later, he soon changes his mind and thinks maybe Sigmund's sandwich isn't so funny after all. There's something smelly in Scott's wardrobe, something that smells just like the green slime paste. A strange green glow comes from under the wardrobe door and something goes slither and bump in the night. Scott is sure he sees a green tentacle creep out from under the door and reach for the handle...
The boys decide to spend the rest of the night in the living room. Scott remembers throwing the uneaten sandwich in his wardrobe when tidying up. Could Sigmund's Sandwich have somehow come to life? Only Sigmund's mom knows the truth...
