About This Book
I started writing short stories before I started writing books because I assumed that if I had short story credits then literary agents would take more notice of me. This is not necessarily the case but I did find that I enjoyed writing short stories. The five short stories below are between 2,000 words and 6,000 words.
The Conquest of France A.D. 2013
A Canadian man in Calgary sits in front of his TV and watches Paris burn. There are only 300,000 people left alive in the city. There are no buildings there anymore. There’s nothing; just a roiling mass of flame miles and miles wide. How did we get to that situation and why?
Dreaming of a Greek Beach and a Handsome Man With Fire in his Heart
Carol Forbes receives a prayer wheel from her friend Mary who has just visited a female Shaman in the Altai Mountains in Siberia. Carol is lonely and Mary tells to use the prayer wheel to find herself a man. When she does that there are very surprising consequences.
City of the New South
Five people are booked into a hotel in Georgia. Each has a different reason for being there and each one has different emotions driving them. A female Vice President will get laid tonight although not with her husband. Another woman sits in her room thinking of killing herself; time is running out and she asks God to give her a sign that will change her mind. In another room is a British man who has murdered his wife and near him is a woman who has embezzled $150,000 from her company. A Vice President sits in his room contemplating buying a new machine. Will he buy the best machine or will his decision go to the company which provides two hot young girls for the night. Perhaps their machine is the best anyway and the girls are just a bonus. Anything can happen in this hotel in the City of the New South.
Playing Golf in a Place That Definitely is not Florida
Jeff Ritchie from New York collapses as he is about to play golf with three friends on a vacation in Florida. When he wakes there are beautiful women everywhere and a man who calls himself Jean-Luc Ifer who spends the rest of the day trying to tempt Jeff. Will Jeff give in to temptation and find himself under the control of the Devil or will his heart stay pure. Read on and find out.

Rahul Gavaskar, Eoin Dempsey and Shane Jennings are searching a valley in the Lake District in England. They expect to find at least two Englishman in the valley and when they find them they will kill them. At his Command Center, Amitabh Gavaskar, eldest brother of Rahul Gavaskar and Indian Military Governor of North West England keeps watch. This is his youngest brother’s first mission in the field. The two Irishmen with him are two of Amitabh Gavaskar’s most trusted Hunters and they should be able to keep him safe but Amitabh Gavaskar has misgivings about whether he should have sent his young brother on such a dangerous mission. Unknown to him a Chinese weapons system developed in 2047 and capable of firing obsidian ball bearings at a speed of 4,000 kilometers an hour has detected the approach of the men.
