About This Book

Eight months after the murder of his colleague, film student Eric De la Cruz seeks respite in the subtropical beachside town of Carmel, California where, not long after his arrival, learns rumor of a banshee that haunts the home of a respected philanthropist’s daughter. It’s said that the banshee’s scream foretells a death.

The following afternoon, Eric meets a mutual friend of the unnerved heiress who invites him, along with five others, to stay for an extended weekend at the manor. That night, a shriek awakens the guests and soon after a man is found dead.

Everyone in the community, especially those who stay at the manor, are sure that the vengeful ghost of Melissa Dearborn, who drowned eight months ago, is responsible. But Eric isn’t convinced. He finds a threatening letter in a desk drawer, discovers counterfeit art in the Dearborn family’s private collection, and shards of glass on the beach. As a storm surge traps them inside the manor with a killer, Eric seeks the help of a maid in a race to expose the hoax and reveal the truth about Melissa’s drowning because the banshee has shrieked again and another guest is about to die.
