About This Book

Not your average civil war story. Unusual heroes, the worst of villains, a ghost, and a Civil War. Life in southern Georgia in the years before, during, and after the Civil War is anything but usual for an Irish immigrant family who settles near Irwinville, Georgia in eighteen thirty six. Peruse through the lives of three generations of the Barton family, who started their lives in this country as indentured servants for a plantation owner, that had a heart of gold. It's also the story of a family of villains, the Donahues, who live near them, that is always up to no good. Heroes and villains have no particular color or nationality in this story, as villainy and heroism are only the characteristics of any man. And then there's the ghost. Another short story in itself imbedded into this adventure. As they say in Irish: Is sceal eachtra mor agus trom sa deisceart. (It's a tale of big and bold adventure in the south.)
