About This Book

"She was the bride of a stranger--caught in a whirlpool of terror!"

Alone in the world, Jenna had little choice but to accept Brennan Savage's unexpected proposal. Son starkly beautiful Cape Savage she hoped to find a home and a loving family. Instead her husband was a proud, arrogant stranger--tormented by the dark secret that lay hidden in the mist-enshrouded Savage Lighthouse...

The closer she came to discovering why Brennan had married her, the more she seemed to threaten someone--or something--on Cape Savage. But for Jenna, passion was stronger than fear. And she could only pray that her fate did not lie upon the jagged rocks and thundering ocean far below.

CRY OF TERROR

As I ran across the cape, the wind pulled the pins from my hair, freeing it to a tumble of wild curls. I raced to the edge of the cape and looked down. Instead of pounding over the rocks at the base of the cliff, the sea rolled in undulating waves to die with a whisper at the sides of the bluff.
I spread my skirt and sat on the edge of the drop with my feet dangling off into space.
Suddenly, the ground beneath me began to tremble. I scrambled to my knees. Before I could reach my feet, there was a loud rumble and the earth on which I was kneeling gave way.
I was thrown onto my back and began sliding down the face of the cliff. Somehow I turned myself over and started clawing frantically at the rocks, trying to break my fall.
I felt my gown tear as I slid down beside a small bush clinging to the rocky soil. I grabbed for the branches like a mad woman, hanging on only for a fraction of a second before my weight dragged the bush from its roots.
I shrieked as I dropped through the air. Then the breath was driven from my lungs and the sun was instantly transformed into darkness.
