The collection consists of the best of his early works – Sukhodol, The Last Rendezvous, Apple Fragrance, The Gentleman from San Francisco – and stories written in his last years – Leka, Sunstroke, Shadowed Paths, and others. They may be called stories about love and about the unforgettable Russian landscape.
